Tuesday December 6, 2016

This morning many of our friends worked on fine motor skills,

social and math skills,

scientific skills...

we are working on so much...

with all of our activities!
We spent a long morning in the sanctuary practicing for Sunday's Christmas program.  The boys and girls did such a fantastic job waiting patiently for their turn while being encouraging to the other classes and their hard work!!  We sang our songs so well, I can't wait for you to see the fruits of their labor on Sunday afternoon.

After doing such a great job sitting pretty still it was time to get moving outdoors!

So much was happening during free choice today it was hard to keep up with the kids!! :)

Painting...

cutting with scissors...

using our imagination...

and more art work!

This week we are making our own Advent wreaths.  There are four candles on an Advent wreath one for each week leading up to Christmas in the season of Advent.  We worked on those fine motor skills tearing paper to add to our circle as the greenery of our wreaths.  Then glued those little pieces down while using our fine motor skills even more...it's hard to get out just the right amount!

Look at this stable for Baby Jesus!

Those trains are always a popular choice.

A couple of our friends were still finishing up their longest to shortest trees!

More friends adding to the stable.

The structures worked on with the magna tiles were impressive...there was a party house for the animals! :)

The gingerbread was a fun place as well!  There was a dragon trying to get inside!

We moved our bodies to the Nutcracker today! Listening to the music...was it fast or slow?  Then we moved our bodies accordingly...fast and slow. Ask your child what it was that made the Nutcracker music!

After that we headed outdoors one more time before lunch.  It is so important that we get these kids outdoors and moving to keep our bodies healthy during this crazy cold season!
