Thursday May 5, 2016

We started out morning out with an all school chapel...but i forgot the ipod to take pictures.  It was so exciting...one of the second graders was baptized during chapel!!!  After that long time of sitting still we played and played outdoors...it was just about perfect outside.

Our butterflies have emerged from their chrysalises!! I was worried that I might have done something wrong...or the time that the entire container was knocked over mysteriously in our classroom...no one knew what had happened...but they have all emerged.  All five came out of their chrysalis when we weren't in the room!  It is so very exciting!

We added our leaves to the thankful tree today! It was so fun to read all the things that the boys and girls are thankful for...if you get a chance come by and check them out...the tree is on the wall at the end of our hallway and turn left...past the bathrooms.

Then Mrs. Haun talked with us about growing...we thought it meant getting bigger, changing, becoming wiser...we have such smart kids.

Then we talked about what we need to help plants grow...we thought of soil, rain, the sun, a seed, they thought of it all again!!

Then Mrs. Haun showed us some rocks...

something else...we thought it might be a pumpkin, or an onion, or garlic...all good guesses.

It is a bulb!  We get to plant our own bulb, only this plant won't need soil and it's not a seed.  We can't wait to see what happens!

Celebrating that our butterflies have emerged...we got to wear these fun butterfly masks!

Getting our bulbs ready...while wearing masks...we did everything with these masks on!

We counted shells in in the estimation jar today...one of our friends guessed exactly how many!

It was a fun butterfly day!

For favorite color day we had pink...

purple...

red...

and blue. :)
