The pictures are all out of order today...sometimes Mrs. Schilling uses her camera to take pictures for me and then transfer them...so they get mixed up in the order they are downloaded. :)
We had an experiment today...we wanted to find out if a pumpkin would sink or float...first we made our guess. Then I dropped a few different things from around the room to see if they would float...a crayon, a lego, a rubberband, a toy animal, a magnetic ball, a shell. Some of those things floated...some didn't...then they could change their guess after watching a few things...only one person changed...we were split 7 thought it would float, and 8 thought it would sink. I tried the little pumpkin first. It floated! Then I brought out the big pumpkin...they could change their vote if they wanted...it floated too!!!
It was pretty wet outside so we played in the commons with hula hoops and balls and megaphones...they are quite creative children...they can figure out so many ways to use those tools!
One of the pages in our portfolios the boys and girls are showing me some different things that they recognize in the world around them...they used thier scissor skills to cut them out and then glued them down.
For our bible story today we talked about the 12 spies that Moses sent into the land of Canaan to check it out for them. Some only saw the scary things but two of them Caleb and Joshua saw that there was good and that God would be with them and help them to the promised land!
We read a story about helping a friend who doesn't look very happy and trying to help them to smile!
