I got an early birthday present today from one of the boys and girls in our class...it was the playdough fun factory for our classroom! I was so excited to use it and then share it with the boys and girls.
Our calendar helper this morning. The way that we do calendar in the morning helps the boys and girls in our class to practice many different skills that we need for school! We are practicing focusing our attention and taking turns, being part of a community, rote counting, practice recognizing numbers, writing numbers, many things go into our calendar. We also have important dates on our calendar. We have started adding special things that are happening with our boys and girls!
During Jesus Time we continue Jesus' journey to the cross. This week we will focus on Jesus death on the cross. We talked about Judas and how he led the soilders and leaders to Jesus, how Jesus was brought to the cross and they nailed His hands and feet to the cross. It hurt Jesus a lot, but He was not angry with the people that did those things. He prayed for them. We learned that the sky turned dark and Jesus died. We learned that they took His body down from the cross and wrapped it in cloths and laid Him in a tomb.
Some of us figured out we could use our snack to make letters, numbers, words, and shapes!
Today we worked on our own personal Coat of Arms. The boys and girls practiced their fine motor skills using the scissors and gluing. They practiced making choices as to what color they used and adding shapes they liked. They showed me that they are confident, inventive, and reflective!
We also worked on cross artwork. Some boys and girls chose to put Jesus on the cross and others chose to have Him not on the cross like He is now.
These princesses were being captured.
Mr. Linneman made us a larger catapult for our classroom!! It was so fun to shoot pom poms even farther!!!
