Thursday August 25, 2016

The boys and girls are doing a great job of finding their own names on the sign in board in the morning...moving it from the At Home side to the At School side.

Building those fine motor skills as well as social skills...sharing, taking turns, waiting, conversation...all things the children work on while playing with playdough...not to mention using their imagination.

This friend was building Rapunzel's Tower...

I love to see what great friends the boys and girls become.

Rapunzel's tower became even longer!

"Look what I made! It's a shiny armor."

"A Playdough puppy"

"A magnet microphone."

Look at this teamwork!!

"A knight!"

The meteorologist this morning checked it out and gave us the report of sunny!

We decided to jump on any number that had a two in it...there was a lot of jumping this morning!! (2, 12, 20, 21,22,23...)

We did the hokey pokey this morning...

Then zippy came to talk with us about how we are a part of the body of Christ!  We all have jobs and talents...I can't wait until our entire cross is finished with all the boys and girls beautiful art.

Right in the middle of all of that we had our first fire drill!  We did a great job practicing going outside and staying together...waiting patiently.  The sound was very startling though and did cause a few tears.

Time for outdoor play!

Telling me all about life...

Reading our books!

Yummy cherries for snack!! :)

Today we did our first "Science Experiment".  Some of these activities are used to cause wonder in your child.  Today we had a bag of water and some sharp pencils...

the boys and girls each made their own prediction as to what they thought would happen if I poked a pencil through the bag...

I poked the pencils through and the water didn't shoot everywhere!!!  We were amazed!!

When we pulled the pencils out...the water did flow out.

We drew about it in our journals!

We also got some new instruments in our classroom.  We had so much fun trying them out!

The sensory table is full of beans.  We added the balance today and some kids figured out how to make it balance!

More writing down of our observations in our journals!

Finishing up those placemats for snacktime.

Working in their "office".

More observational drawings in our journals.

"I made my own book!"

So proud of our work!

Writing I Love Mommy.
I forgot my camera when we went to the gym today...we had some mats out today and practiced rolling our bodies sideways and doing summersaults...or cartwheels...just practicing moving our bodies.
We had some balls out as well and some of us practiced hitting the ball like a volleyball player and others did a little shooting of hoops!  It was a fun day.  The boys and girls are a little tired today.  We had several friends who were rather weepy. :)  It's hard work getting back into the routine of things.
