Getting back into the swing of school!

We had a few new things in our room today...some christmas sewing cards...

and a Nativity set to play with.

This morning a few of our friends took turns to talk about what they did over Thanksgiving. They spoke with a strong voice and the our friends did a great job being listeners.

We are all learning that sometimes we don't get called on and we will have a turn another time!

Some jobs were done this morning! :)

Today we talked about Advent.  Advent is the time we spend before Christmas to get ready for Jesus' Birthday!  We have a large advent wreath on our bulletin board with 4 large candles. A new candle will be lit each week until all four candles are lit at Christmas!  There is also a new blue parament on our altar...since blue is the color within our church year for Advent.

It is a dreary day outside so we played inside the commons.

We are figuring out all sorts of ways to use hula hoops!

Helping out at snack.
We read the story "God Gave Us Christmas" today.  As we begin Advent it is a good time to remember why we have Christmas.  And that is because Jesus was born to be our Savior!  There is a lot of talk about Santa and presents around the boys and girls and we always want to remind them that we have received the greatest gift of all...Jesus.  Since God loves us so much we share that love and gifts with others!

We wrote in our journals today about something that we did over Thanksgiving break!

We also started decorating our dramatic play area...just as we do our homes for Christmas!

We have been talking about many different feelings...happy...

sad...

surprised...

and angry.

Today we talked about how sometimes our bodies might feel uncomfortable and that feeling many times is called worried.  We talked about how it is good to talk to an adult if you are feeling worried and you can also pray to Jesus about how you are feeling and that may help too!

We spent time in the gym as well today!Spinning...

crawling...

running...

dribbling...

shooting....

playing dead...

passing...

having fun.  Preschool is a party everyday. :)
