Monday December 7, 2015

We sure had a busy day!  Started off with our counting the days in December...this month seems to be flying by!

Our pattern is a tricky one this month!

We decided mat man needed some warm clothes!

We added a new flame this week!  We talked about how the more candles that are lit on the advent wreath, the closer we are to Jesus birthday, Christmas!!!

Today we talked about how when Mary was pregnant with Jesus there was a king who wanted to know how many people lived in his land, so everyone had to go to the place where they were born.  Joseph and Mary traveled to Bethlehem.  It was so crowded there they couldn't find a place to stay.  Then finally one innkeeper told them they could stay in his stable, and that is where Mary had her baby, Jesus, that night!

Here are Mary and Joseph traveling to Bethlehem.

We played on the big playground today.  The kids always have so much fun out there.  Lots of opportunities to climb and build all of those skills!

We went to the church sanctuary to practice our songs with Miss Kirby's class today...the kids did great!  I can't wait for you to see them on Sunday as we share the story of Jesus, our Savior's, birthday!!TheTThe kids are still building those fine motor muscles and hand eye coordination when they string the fruit loop garland!  Hopefully they don't eat too many. :)

Lots of playing being done today.  The boys and girls are learning how to get a long with each other so well.  They are becoming so much better at thinking when there is a problem!!

We didn't get a ton of pictures today but the kids are still hard at work on their Christmas trees by counting out the letters in their names and then cutting out the triangles and then writing the letters and gluing them down in order!!!  Phew!!! That's a lot of work!!

I know...I look crazy in this picture...my aide snapped this picture right at the right time.  But I decided to go old school today and I brought in my record player.  I showed them how it worked and we first watched it happen and listened...then we got to dance with our jingle bell bracelets to some Nutcracker Suite songs!!! It was a lot of fun!!

Then we listened to a story on the record player.  It is a story called "Small One".  It is about a donkey who was going to be sold and he was thought to be good for nothing...but ended up being a gentle donkey who gave Mary and ride to Bethlehem.  (we talked about how it is a pretend story)

The boys and girls sat so still and listened to the story so intently!! It was so fun.
