Friday September 2, 2016

We have been working very hard on the flow of our day and practicing being good listeners this week.  It has been one busy week. Our calendar helper had a long ways to reach...

needed a little help. :)

Meteorologist!

Singing silly songs is a favorite with this group...this one was a silly one about sticky bubble gum!

We practiced our listening skills today...the kids are doing great!

We practiced listening to friends who told us about pets that they have had.  Look around...most of our friends had
1. Eyes watching
2. Ears listening
3.Voice quiet
4. Body calm

Another glorious day given to us by God!

Reading to self...our kids are getting better at this!!

Snack time.

We played another listening game. I had a few items that first we obsesrved them making a sound...then I placed all the items in a bag and we had to use our listening ears to guess what item made the noise.  The kids did great!

I had more ice out for the boys and girls to experiment with.  Many of them loved to just feel how cold it was!!

Making covers for the babies.

Working at the writing center.

"We have an idea...add paper towels to make them melt faster!!"

We took a quick break from free choice to learn a new game outside.  The boys and girls did a great job following directions and learning the rules for "Chickens Come Home!"

We really got our bodies moving!

Then we headed back inside...many more friends were interested in the melting ice.

We really investigated the ice!

Some of us worked on our scissor skills.

"I found a tiny piece of ice inside this fish!!"

The gardener today.

It was a fun day full of friends learning how to play together. :)

Today one of the books that we read is a story from my childhood...it is called "The King, the Mice, and the Cheese".  By Nancy and Eric Gurney.  They loved it!!
