Monday January 4, 2016

Our calendar helper helped us start a new month and a new year!!

We have a tricky tricky pattern this month so we looked at the entire pattern to try to get it down.

We looked at our weather graph for the month of December and found we had a lot of sunny days during school!

The temperature was pretty low this morning at 30 degrees!!! Brrrrrrrr.

We then talked about the weather in January and made predictions as to which column we thought would have the most days...sunny, cloudy, rainy, or snowy.

We had the most guesses for sunny and rainy!

During our Jesus Time today we talked about the Magi (wisemen) who saw Jesus' star in the sky and followed it from far away to find Jesus and worship Him!  They brought Him gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.  Very fancy gifts!!

It was pretty chilly outside but most of us had hats and gloves or mittens to help keep us warm!  So we got to have fun outside! :)

One of our stories today was called "Stella, the Queen of the Snow".  We talked a lot about how we are in the season of winter now and the temperatures are lower and colder.  And we could possibly get snow...and water can freeze...and we can do things like sled and ice skate if there is snow and it is cold enough!

The boys and girls helped me out by helping take the ornaments off of the tree and getting all of the Christmas decorations put away!

Everyone also got a chance to practice writing some letters on the table with some shaving cream...always one of our favorites!

Coloring an epiphany star!

This group had quite the elaborate dinner set up...

and this little girl had a broken leg...but they were going to take her to the doctor tomorrow...

then we bandaged it up.

The boys and girls worked together to build this amazing city!

Our artist of the week hard at work.

Other friends love painting too!!

"This is a picture of all the people I love."

We got to sing some new silly songs!!

Our letter of the week is S...the boys and girls were fantastic at thinking of words that begin with the sssss sound.
Sesame Street has a podcast for each letter and we watched the one for S!Then we did a little Gonoodle.com to get our bodies moving!!  We did the dinosaur stomp...lots of fun!
