We are all learning about collaboration in preschool...such an important skill for the boys and girls when they grow up!! One of the skills we try to emphasis the most is working with others...getting along with those around us!!
We got some new "natural" building pieces in our classroom. The boys and girls worked on some structures for the animals to live in. 
Some of our friends just love sorting through all of those buttons!

We are learning the story of epiphany...when the wisemen followed the star to find Jesus. I read the story "The Three Wise Kings" written and illustrated by Tomie dePaola. Who is one of my favorite artists of all time. He does a wonderful job of telling the story.
It was such a beautiful day outside! We had to make sure we got out and played!

We worked on our ephiphany rubbings today! The boys and girls use a crayon to reveal the texture of the star below. It quite the fine motor practice!! This project also includes glue which is another example of fine motor practice.
In the sensory table the kids explore and dump and stir and scoop. By giving children the opportunity to investigate materials with no preconceived knowledge, you’re helping them develop and refine their cognitive, social and emotional, physical, creative and linguistic skill sets.
We created "crowns" today that say...I follow Jesus. At Zion we are always learning to be kind to everyone around us...even if they aren't kind to us. Just as Jesus did! The boys and girls did such a great job writing the words onto their crowns.
We had wonderful imaginative play going on in the kitchen today.
The light table is such an amazing way to get kids to look at things in different ways...something so simple as small plastic cups and translucent plastic fish are wonderful ways to let the kids explore in sorting and counting and working alongside someone else!
We follow Jesus!!!
We also practiced writing the letter S!!
