The boys and girls discovered our colorful tape that I found for them!! :)  There were so many beautiful creations made this morning!

I also made a new game called tug and pull...it is only a two person game, the players take turns rolling the die and moving the place marker back and forth...the first one off the game board is the winner!

Tape AND magnets. :)

See?!? Beautiful creations.

THere is a creation inside that building.

Checking the weather this morning...it is just a delightful day today!

Our calendar helpers new job is to create a pattern to share with the class using anything in the classroom!

It is so exciting how much we have grown in our playground abilities!

Woah!!! Look out for those ice powers!

We are becoming daredevils!

Time to read to ourselves.

Then we headed over for our special guest visitor from Missouri Botanical Gardens!

Miss Tanya read us a story and we also sang a song with her about our five senses.  She talked with us how we can use our senses to explore the world around us!

Then we broke up in to groups and used those senses (except taste) to investigate five different plants.  Ask your child if they can remember which one was their favorite.

Here is the song. (sung to the tune of Where is Thumbkin)

Here was the story we listened to.

The boys and girls also had the opportunity to scoop out some dirt into a pot, pinch a handful of teeny tiny seeds, and put them in the dirt. We packaged up all of those plants to be sent home and soon, if you follow the directions, your family will have their own basil plant! ( I unfortunately didn't get any pictures of this part!)

We didn't have a lot time back in our classroom today. But we used our free choice time to draw pictures of flowers using chalk pastels...

use robot arms...

figure out we have to tip one end of the tube so that things can slide down onto our friend's head...

play a little house...

write in our journals and draw pictures...

and do some math assessment.

The boys and girls are settling back into our routine after that long hiatus for Easter break.  I think it took all week for us to remember how our classroom works!  But the boys and girls have really shown how much they have grown this year in so many ways. I really sit and marvel at them and the perspectives they bring to our classroom.  If you could be a fly on our wall sometimes. :)
